Pikewood
This classic English country home has unfortunately been torn down recently. It was known as Pikewood, and was built in 1923 for Mr. E. Perry Ellwood. Mr. Ellwood’s father owned half of the well-known Glidden Barbed Wire Company. In the late 1800’s, the invention of barbed wire virtually eliminated the open range in the old west.
Today, Pikewood is owned the family of the late Charles B. Goes. The Goes family owns a large lithography company in Chicago. This home is truly one of a kind and catches the eye of many boaters on Geneva Lake.
